In celebrating a very successful IMPACT '23 Festival it is at this time of year that I reflect on the importance of this festival to the theatre-making community here in the Waterloo Region, but in particular I reflect on Majdi Bou-Matar, the artist, educator, and friend who started it all. In the founding of the MT Space and the IMPACT Festival, Majdi has provided so much inspiration and encouragement to us all. The WOOMcollaborative celebrates Majdi's unique form of influence.
